The Year is 2020 - companies like the NFL are unsure of how to hold their annual draft remotely. The world is nothing like today with the endless zoom meetings and comfort in remote connections.
Enter The VCC! Forbes covered the VCC (Video Call Center) demonstrating a glimpse into our remote present. I was lucky enough to join The VCC team in late April of 2020, just after the NFL remote draft success. At this time, no one else had a good answer to remote guests on live tv. Many legacy solutions historically had lag, unreasonably poor quality, latency issues, and expensive equipment.
When I joined the VCC, I joined as a hungry recent graduate wearing many hats in a rapidly growing startup, where the only issue with the incredible software was the software- no one could use it without months of training- not even broadcast professionals.
Without breaking the NDA I signed, let's look over the 2 year long process of improving, breaking, and working to recreate the VCC process and finally, holistically, create a SaaS product that was eventually able to sell to the largest, Well-known Network Television Broadcast companies. 😁
